 Noida Jewar Airport to Open Soon:

  • Noida's Jewar Airport (NIA / VIND) is set to be inaugurated on the 30th of October; and operations should begin about 45 days thereafter. 
  • In its first phase, it will have 1 runway and 1 terminal, with the capacity to handle 12 million passengers annually.
  • Upon completion, it will be India's largest airport with the capacity to handle 70 million passengers annually.
  • It will reduce congestion at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL / VIDP), and augment economic growth in Noida and Uttar Pradesh.
  • Apart from improving connectivity, it is being built with modern technology to focus on sustainability. 




Routes Expansion:
  • Indigo is to inaugurate their use of the A321-XLR aircraft with flights to Athens. This comes after Aegean Airlines have expanded to India from Athens of A321-XLRs.
  • Indigo is also flying directly from Mumbai to Copenhagen, Denmark. 
  • Etihad is expected to resume flights to Damascus, Syria by 2026.

Cyberattack Affects Aviation:
  • A massive cyberattack has affected check-in and boarding software at many European airports.
  • This includes London Heathrow (LHR / EGLL), Brussels (BRU / EBBR), Dublin (DUB / EIDW), etc.

Spirit Aerosystems Settlement:
  • Spirit has agreed to pay USD 30,000,000 to settle an investor lawsuit regarding the Boeing 737-Max.

 The Akasa Air Flight Report Flight Details: Flight:  QP1142 Route:  GOX-PNQ Date:  27 December 2024 Seat:  4F (priority check-in, baggage, popcorn & cashews) Boarding:  2:35 Departs:  3:35 PM Arrives:  4:45 PM Registration:  VT-YAL Aircraft:  B737-Max 8 Fare:  INR 14,442 (3 passengers) Gate:  12 Note how this aircraft does not include their premium A++ cabin, which comes in a 2-2 configuration instead of the usual 3-3. The menu on the flight included salads, croissants, appetizers, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, snacks, beverages, and ready-to-eat items. We boarded at 3:00 PM and it finishes at 3:20. Ever since the TATA takeover in 2022, Air India has undergone a plethora of changes. From fleet upgrades to mergers, will the airline be able to regain its lost glory? A Brief History: Air India was founded by Industrialist JRD Tata in 1932 as Tata Air Services. He was the first licensed commercial pilot of the nation and had a deep passion for aviation. It was renamed Air India in 1946 and became India's flag carrier. It was once one of the world's greatest airlines, symbolizing luxury in the skies until it was nationalized in 1953.
